The Children’s Zoo has a child-sized bird’s nest they can sit in, or kids can climb a giant spider’s web! They can also explore a prairie dog tunnel, or even try out being a turtle by wearing a shell. And what better way to burn off some energy than to slide down a huge hollow tree, just like woodland creatures!And for close up encounters, even the smallest children will enjoy their experience at the petting zoo. Children can pet and feed a variety of domestic animals, including sheep, goats, cows and even a donkey.
And for a great keepsake, children can have their photos taken with an animal! Photo souvenirs are $5 and there’s a $.50 charge for food pellets, both help support the care and feeding of the animals
in the Children’s Zoo.
The Children’s Zoo is open April through October, weather permitting.
